In our Pre-School we recognise the value and benefits of playing in nature as a valuable part of the learning process and of children’s emotional well-being. Our innovative Forest Kindergarten Programme specialising in Early Years, aims to support children to develop a deeper relationship with nature. The sessions are being taught by a qualified Level 3 Forest Kindergarten Educator and children are encouraged to use natural materials throughout play to develop their creativity within a safe and nurturing environment. The range of forest activities we offer teach students to manage their own behaviour, think independently, and discover their own limits through child-led learning.
As the setting is in the wonderful grounds of Brasted Pavillion, children are exposed to the greatest variety of experiences. We make use of the recreation field, the tennis courts, and the new children’s playground, providing thus ongoing learning opportunities and connections to the natural world. Our free-flow outdoor area allows children to explore and play in every session. Our school further maintains its own allotment where children are able to engage in gardening are encouraged to grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
