It is a statutory requirement of the EYFS that every child must be assigned a key person. The Key Person will be the person, who will help your child throughout the transition process to settle in and make sure that your child’s care is tailored to meet their needs. It is vital for the Key Person to acquire some knowledge about your child before the start date, from a home visit as well as any other information that parents provide through the registration process. The Key Person will usually meet the carer on the arrival and will welcome your child to our Pre-School. At pick up time, the Key Person usually provides comments to the carer about their child’s day.  Any information shared with the parents is also done mainly through the Key Person. Parents are encouraged to inform Key Person about any child’s activities or milestones. The Key Person is the bridge of communication between parents and the Pre-School and always aims to provide your child with a sense of security and reassurance, while away from home.
